01

Who we are and contact info

Pets In Black provides dog waste removal and related yard cleanup services in Mississauga, Ontario. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal information when you visit the site, book service, communicate with us, approve quotes, use the customer portal, or receive service.

Privacy questions can be sent to hello@petsinblack.ca.

02

What we collect

When you book service or start a booking, we may collect your first and last name, email address, phone number, service address, number of dogs, selected service frequency, neighbourhood or service area information, referral code, session source, UTM parameters, and the details needed to evaluate service availability.

For service delivery, we may collect gate codes, entry point instructions, garbage-cart location, blackout or access-limit days, special yard areas, dog or yard notes, and other information you choose to provide so the yard can be serviced safely.

For billing, payment information is handled by Stripe. Pets In Black does not store full card numbers. The CRM may store billing status, invoice records, Stripe-linked identifiers, hosted invoice links, and payment status information needed to operate the account.

Operators may upload service-proof photos through the owner-side CRM. These photos are used to document completed visits and are stored through Vercel Blob.

The site may collect analytics and advertising data through Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, and session UTM capture. This can include page views, campaign source, browser or device metadata, and booking-related events.

03

How we use it

We use personal information to evaluate whether service is available at your address, create and manage customer records, schedule or adjust service, communicate with you, send confirmations and service messages, create quotes and invoices, process payments through Stripe, and maintain service history.

We use access details such as gate codes, entry points, bin locations, blackout days, and yard notes only to deliver service, resolve access problems, prepare service sheets, and support future employees or operators who may service the property.

We use analytics and UTM data to understand which ads and site pages bring people to the booking form, improve the site, and measure advertising performance.

04

Who we share it with

Pets In Black uses third-party processors to operate the website and service. These include Stripe for payment processing, Resend for transactional email, Vercel for hosting and Blob storage, Supabase for the PostgreSQL database, Mapbox for address autocomplete, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics for analytics, and Meta Pixel for advertising measurement.

We share only the information needed for those processors to provide their services. For example, payment details are handled by Stripe, emails are delivered through Resend, address autocomplete uses Mapbox, CRM records are stored in Supabase Postgres, and service-proof photos are stored in Vercel Blob.

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, to collect amounts owed, or to respond to lawful demands from public authorities.

05

How long we keep it

Booking, customer, service, invoice, payment, and communication records are retained for the duration of the customer relationship plus a reasonable period needed for business, tax, accounting, legal, and dispute-resolution purposes. CRA recordkeeping obligations are commonly six years.

Gate codes and access instructions can be updated or deleted when you ask without deleting service history, unless keeping a specific access note is necessary to resolve an active service, billing, safety, or legal issue.

Service-proof photos are retained as part of visit records unless you ask for deletion and no legal, billing, operational, or dispute-related reason requires retention.

06

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA, you may ask for access to personal information we hold about you, ask that inaccurate information be corrected, withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, and ask that information be deleted where retention is no longer required.

If Quebec Law 25 applies to you, you may have additional rights, including transparency about the personal information we hold, correction of inaccurate information, and information about how automated or third-party processing is used.

If CCPA or similar California privacy rights apply to you, you may ask for information about categories of personal information collected, ask for deletion where legally available, and ask that personal information not be sold or shared as defined by applicable law.

07

Cookies and tracking

The site can load Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, and Meta Pixel when configured. These tools help measure visits, traffic sources, advertising performance, and booking events. The booking flow can also capture UTM parameters from the session so we can understand which ad, page, or source brought someone to the site.

You can reduce tracking by using browser privacy controls, blocking cookies, using ad settings offered by Google and Meta, or using available industry opt-out tools. Some analytics or advertising features may not function if tracking is blocked.
